JULIA ELAINE MILLS hails from the artistic and eclectic communities of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She grew up acting and capturing beauty in whatever way possible; be that in the outdoors or within her interactions. Realizing her real passion was cinematography and producing, she went to New York University for film to specialize in those two with a focus in Producing and Cinematography.
Her goal as a filmmaker is to create stark and progressive works of beauty in new and diverse ways showcasing the human condition. Blending her interests in traveling and different cultures, she strives to make every work a new and interesting encounter into the way of looking at characters and worlds.
MIKE KANEY is a storyteller, filmmaker, marketing strategist and a cancer crusher. He is the founder of RockBridge Productions, a video production agency based in San Francisco & Los Angeles that concentrates on building strong relationships with leading brands including Salesforce, Square, Fitbit, Nike, and Chevron to bring their visions to life through commercials, branded content, and feature films. After losing both his parents to cancer in 2008 he joined the San Francisco Social helping raise funds for Kipp Bay Area Schools, Larkin Street Youth Services, and The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. He has contributed over 100 videos helping raise over $60 million in funds for organizations including those above, as well as, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Make A Wish, Family House, GenesysWorks Bay Area, Project Open Hand, BUILD.org, and the National Psoriasis Foundation. In September 2016, Mike was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer and on the short end of his timeline given until Christmas to finalize his affairs. In early 2017, by the Grace of God, he crushed this cancer back to remission beating all odds along the way. Kaney's focus for filmmaking is to tell very specific stories through film that help generate socratic dialogue long after the fade to black.
SCOTT AMENTA is an entrepreneur focused on business storytelling, organizational management and leadership excellence. Scott has worked in the early stages of prominent technology startups in NY focused on biz dev, operations, and strategy. Most recently he served as the Chief of Staff at Spring, a fashion & beauty marketplace acquired by ShopRunner at the end of 2018. As CoS, Scott led projects across product strategy, fundraising (raising over $100mm in 4 rounds of financing), investor & board management, corp dev, finance, and team operations (growing the team to 150 employees in less than 4 years).
Scott also founded the CoS Tech Network - a private network of Chiefs of Staff from over 130 VC-backed tech and media companies with active chapters in NY and SF.
MAV BLOCK is a American filmmaker, artist, and aspiring (though unsuccessful) vagabond having grated from the undergraduate program of film & television at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In his work, he prefers to explore emotional extremes, paradox, and is drawn to portraiture. He grew up outside of Philadelphia and spent twelve years at a Quaker school, where he learned consensus didn’t work after his teachers abandoned it in favor of voting by the ninth grade. He has produced many short films including his own award-winning film Adherence.
JANICE GILMAN is a distinguished production professional with experience as a coordinator, producer, and manager on diverse projects. After growing up in Washington, DC Janice moved to NYC to major in photography at New York University. While at NYU Janice discovered her love of photography and impacting the world through images extended to moving pictures as well. Since graduating, Janice has worked on a wide array of diverse projects and draws her strength from creative problem solving. Both her photography and film work are largely impacted by subject matter that forces the viewer to delve deeper into reality and confront sometimes uncomfortable topics or questions.
